Psalm 46:10. God’s clear message to me is “be still and know that I am God.” The world as we know it has been turned upside down. The changes that have come so suddenly to our lives are probably not for the short term.

People have been inside their houses for extended periods of time. I myself have been in my house for two weeks, only getting out to get supplies. Before March this year I never even thought this was possible. It has been possible and it even seems that this crisis will be with us for upto six months or even more unless someone can find a vaccine for the Corona virus that is currently devastating our lives.

What makes it even more apocalyptic is that the whole world is affected. Unlike previous diseases such as Ebola, this disease is global and no country in the world is not affected.

In the midst of this God says, “be still and know that I am God.” What does this mean to me. It means that God is saying to me that nothing we can think of or do will remedy the situation. Yes, we can only try to avoid contracting the disease or manage the disease if we contract it, but as to whether the disease will be finally defeated, that is God’s work. Let us just be still and wait for God to work. We should not concern ourselves with where we will get food etc. God will take care of that.
