It is that time when, we, collectively, imagine that we have crossed over into a new time-zone. Anyone acquainted with the creature called homo sapiens knows that this is a creature of imagination. We imagine that we live in territories called countries, and then imagine that simply because we live in these imaginary territories, the said territories imbue us with certain characteristics. So you will hear such nonsense as English pride, French romance, German engineering etc. We imagine some pieces of paper we call money have value. We imagine that, some of us, work for, so-called, legal “persons” called companies and that these legal persons, in appreciation for the work we’ve done, pay us the pieces of paper that we imagine, have value! We imagine many things and we are, indeed, a species steeped in imagery! So I guess imagining that we are crossing over to a new year is acceptable.

As we cross into the new year, I wish you all the best. This will be a wonderful year for me and I plan to enjoy each and every day. Yes, homo sapiens imagines, but I think the greatest thing we have done as a species is to put our imaginations into action, to make our imaginations real. As such, I urge you to go out, as indeed I will, and make your imaginations real in 2024! Happy New Year and a prosperous 2024!
